Calling a New Pastor

St. Andrew's Pastor Nominating Committee recently shared that the search has reached an important milestone: the committee has discerned a candidate they believe is being called to lead our congregation and has invited that candidate to come and be with us.

After discussion with the candidate, the PNC has also negotiated the Terms of Call, and the candidate has accepted. The Presbytery of East Iowa’s Commission on Ministry and Vitality has approved the candidate and the Terms of Call. Our Session has also approved of the Terms of Call, and those Terms fall within the already approved 2026 budget.

Because confidentiality is essential to this part of the process—for the candidate and for the integrity of the search—we want to be clear about the timeline. The PNC will release the candidate’s name on February 23.

The candidate will be with us on Sunday March 8 to lead worship and preach. Following worship that day, Session has called a Congregational Meeting to vote on calling the candidate as our next pastor and head of staff.

We know this is a significant moment in the life of the church, and we are grateful for the prayerful, careful, and faithful work of the PNC throughout this process. Thank you for your patience, your prayers, and your care for one another as we take this next step together.
